As somebody who kind of sucks at fighting games, if there are any other recommendations to get into the genre, that'd be helpful as well (Fire Emblem, and the lore of, have recently been recommended to me, for example). So, I just have a soft spot for this series, obviously, and would really like to enjoy the games fully. I also loved the manga and series/movies. I'm a huge historical (Sengoku, esp) fan.
